room swap: part 1

Part one of our big room switch is done and we're all settled into our new spaces.  Our upstairs floor is now just bedrooms, just for sleeping and dressing, which I'm hoping will make the transition of having a new baby in the house again a little easier.  Our main floor is geared towards a little more productivity during the day, now, and I think it's a good change so far.
Levi's old office is now Avery's new sunshiny bedroom.  The dark blue walls were painted "corn silk" yellow and her polka-dot curtains hemmed to fit the new window.  We've kept her room really simple with only a few toys and books.
The old sewing room became our bedroom, and again it's a space we're aiming to keep really spare without all the usual clutter that used to end up in our room.  It's quieter up there, and much more cozy.
Our old bedroom is now Levi's study.  The guest bed is in there too, so if you're company someday, that's where you'll stay.  Even though Levi had a functional office space in our old set up, he tended to prefer staying on the main floor (along with the piles of books that follow him home every day).
Lastly, Avery's old bedroom became my sewing room, with just enough space for everything I need ...
... as well as a play corner for Avery and co.  For some reason, this set up is working well (knock on wood) and she's left my sewing materials alone (so far).  I have no idea why, but I'm glad.  All scissors and pins are kept up high as it is, but it can be a little frustrating to see my stacks of fabric in muddles on the floor, being a little bit prone to order.

Part two of the big room swap will involve stripping some wallpaper and painting the old guest room to be a new nursery for baby, painting the dark blue upstairs bathroom, and painting the hallway and stairwell, but that's a project for another month (as in, whenever Levi's ready to tackle it all on his own again).
